Anneke prepares yummy omelets with bacon, fresh basil, tomato and feta, OR bacon & eggs or even a health fruit muesli and yogurt. All is prepared with love and served from the heart.
If the weather is cold or rainy then breakfast in bed should be the answer (even though the café has a lovely fireplace) Yip we deliver one of our enjoyed breakfast buckets to your room. These buckets hold coffee, fruit salads & yogurt and a toasted breakfast sarmi which will bring you back for more! Or you could take your bucket for breakfast on the beach.
I love cooking, and have been in the kitchen from junior school days! My training as a chef was in Cape Town, Kalk Bay, with chefs from both Rovos Rail and Constantia Uitsig.
Sandriver Cafe is the name we gave to my kitchen where I spend mostly every day, either preparing breakfasts, or functions, baking children's birthday cakes, wedding cakes, or just creating a simple meal of fresh fish and calamari for our guests!
We do small dinners or great big family ones at our lapa braai area, under the stars, where Marc braais huge fillets of fish over the coals.
